How I Got in the Best Shape of My Life by Quitting the Gym

I used to love to go to the gym. I saw it as a necessary luxury where it was crucial in making me healthier, more confident and stronger. But after a couple of months of going to the gym I noticed that if I worked out  from home I would save both money and time. First, workout clothes aren't cheap and I found myself spending more money on yoga pants than the clothes I wore everyday. I felt like I needed to be fashionable and look good since I was around tons of people. It was also costly, where I was spending $75 a month on my membership. Going to the gym also stripped me away of time. From the 20 minutes to get ready for the gym to the 15 minutes it took me to drive to the gym. The worst was the gym made me feel self conscious. I began to measure my physical appearance to others at the gym.

With all the stresses of going to the gym I found my canceling my membership. I ventured to YouTube in search of exercise videos. This was 6 years ago and now I have a list of YouTube channels that I frequent to keep my body healthy and in tip top shape.

Pop Pilates: Cassey Ho is the queen of YouTube when it comes to exercise videos. Her exercises are based on pilates and target on one body part. This is perfect for those who place their energy on one body part daily.

POPSUGAR Fitness: If you like to change up your exercise routine you should try out POPSUGAR Fitness. It has everything from dance workouts to stretching exercises. This channel also has my favorite host, Anna Renderer who keeps the workout fun and playful.

Rebecca Louise: A native of England who is based in Los Angeles, Rebecca Louise is a powerhouse and I find her a touch harder than pop pilates.

Tone It Up: Karena and Katrina bring tons of energy to their workouts. If I am in the need for cardio this is my go to channel.
